
Rooted in the cultural heritage of the Silk Road and gathering elite talents from home and abroad, the conference explored frontiers in respiratory medicine and built solidarity through medical cooperation. Held from July 3 to 5 at the Xingfuhu International Conference Center in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, the 2026 "Silk Road-Bonded Compassion" Respiratory Disease Conference cum the 3rd China-US Respiratory Medicine Conference was successfully convened. Co-hosted by the Zhejiang Anti-Cancer Association and the China-America Lung Association (CALA), and undertaken by the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the event brought together experts and scholars from domestic and international universities and research institutions in basic research, translational medicine and clinical practice. Participants conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the latest research progress in lung development, pulmonary diseases and other related frontier fields.
As an important international academic platform for deepening bilateral academic exchanges and sharing cutting-edge scientific achievements between Chinese and American respiratory medicine communities, the China-US Respiratory Medicine Conference is held alternately in the United States and China. Following the 2024 Shanghai session, this year's event marked its second edition hosted in China. Over the three day conference, numerous top experts delivered keynote speeches and hosted thematic seminars. It provided a high-level academic exchange platform for researchers, clinicians and young scholars in pulmonary science and lung disease research, boosting interdisciplinary cooperation and innovative development in the field.
