On January 28, four senior interventional medical experts from India’s top cancer center, Tata Memorial Centre Brachy Academy, traveled to China to observe cutting-edge surgical demonstrations and conduct academic exchanges at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZJU4H).
The highlight of the exchange was a live demonstration of 4K3D fluorescence-navigated laparoscopic microwave ablation for liver cancer at special sites, led by Professor Tang Zhe, Vice President of the hospital. The advanced technology, which visualizes even 1-2mm tiny tumors and enables precise ablation while protecting adjacent organs, deeply impressed the Indian experts.

“We currently use CT guidance instead of laparoscopy-guided ablation, so witnessing these world-leading techniques is extremely rewarding,” said Professor Paresh Patel from India. The experts also observed other high-level ablation surgeries and exchanged experiences on clinical challenges in minimally invasive tumor treatment.
Beyond surgical observations, the two sides also held in-depth academic exchanges: Chinese experts shared key technologies and risk control experience in treating difficult liver tumors, while Indian experts introduced the clinical application of microwave ablation in their country, exchanging insights on clinical challenges in minimally invasive tumor treatment.

At the closing meeting, the Indian experts received training certificates. They praised China’s intelligent medical services and said the learned technologies would improve their clinical work. The event built a bridge for China-India cooperation in interventional medicine.
