With 38 years of experience in pediatric clinical practice, his primary research focus is neonatal diseases. He is one of the earliest experts in China to specialize in neonatal intensive care; he served as the head of the Neonatology Group of the Pediatrics Branch of the Chinese Medical Association for an extended period (2007–2019) and has conducted in-depth research on neonatal respiratory failure, hypoxic pulmonary hypertension, and hyperbilirubinemia; He has led the development of numerous domestic clinical practice guidelines. He currently serves as the chief editor of the textbook *Neonatology* and as deputy editor of *Pediatrics*. He holds editorial positions at various academic journals both domestically and internationally.
