The Department of Orthopedics at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University is dedicated to the comprehensive development of medical care, teaching, and research. It is one of the hospital’s key clinical departments, a Zhejiang Provincial Key Specialty, and a Class I Key Discipline in Jinhua City. The department has established eight major subspecialties: Trauma Orthopedics, Joint and Orthopedic Surgery, Spinal Surgery, Sports Medicine, Hand and Foot Surgery, Pediatric Orthopedics, and Bone and Soft Tissue Oncology. With a focus on complex joint replacement and revision surgeries as well as minimally invasive spinal procedures, the department’s clinical capabilities rank among the top in the country. The department currently employs 40 physicians, all of whom hold master’s degrees or higher from renowned domestic universities. Among them are 7 chief physicians, 9 associate chief physicians, 2 doctoral advisors, 2 master’s advisors, and 2 postdoctoral researchers. The department is responsible for training doctoral and master’s candidates as well as undergraduates from Zhejiang University, and serves as a standardized residency training base for orthopedic residents.
