The Department of Urology at The Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, a Zhejiang Provincial Key Clinical Specialty construction project, comprises four subspecialties: urolithiasis, urologic oncology, functional urology, and andrology. With 65 inpatient beds, the department has an annual outpatient volume exceeding 80,000 visits; over 4,000 inpatients are admitted each year, and more than 3,000 surgical operations are performed annually, over 95% of which are minimally invasive. Widely adopting the da Vinci Surgical System, the department is a provincial lead in zero-ischemia, sutureless nephron-sparing surgery for renal tumors and prioritizes organ-function preserving surgical strategies. It specializes in the diagnosis and management of the most prevalent urological conditions, including renal malignancy, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and renal and ureteral calculi. Its core technical strengths include robot-assisted oncological resections, EP-HoLEP for preserving posterior urethral function, high-power Moses holmium laser lithotripsy, laparoscopic zero-ischemic renal surgery, and microscopic varicocelectomy for complex urological disorders. With one Qiushi Distinguished Professor of Zhejiang University, the department has undertaken National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) projects and provincial-ministerial key research programs. As a rotation site for the national standardized residency training program, it has three postgraduate supervisors and provides joint postdoctoral training opportunities, with numerous SCI-indexed publications produced in recent years. Outpatient services are available at Clinic Area 5 on the 3rd floor, while inpatient wards 13 and 14 are located in Building 2. Committed to patient-centered care, the department offers standardized, minimally invasive urological services for both domestic and international patients.
