The Department of Dermatology is a key specialty of the Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. It integrates clinical practice, medical education, disease prevention and clinical research, boasting a well-structured talent team, strong technical capacity and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. The department has 14 physicians in total, all holding master’s degrees or above, including 3 doctoral degree holders and 1 postdoctoral fellow. All physicians hold national Good Clinical Practice certification. In the past five years, they have published 22 SCI papers as first authors, achieving fruitful academic outcomes through integrated clinical and research work.
The department delivers standardized diagnosis and treatment for common and complex dermatoses and sexually transmitted diseases, and undertakes clinical trials for new dermatological drugs. It features distinctive strengths in managing psoriasis, eczema, acne, vitiligo, hair loss, as well as various allergic, bacterial and fungal skin diseases. Standardized screening, treatment and whole‑course management are provided for sexually transmitted diseases including syphilis, gonorrhea and condyloma acuminatum. Professional diagnostic platforms such as dermoscopy, fungal microscopy, VISIA skin analysis and skin pathology are available to support accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment planning.
Equipped with two standardized operating rooms, the department routinely performs surgical procedures including radical resection of skin tumors, flap transfer repair, hair follicle stem cell transplantation, epidermal grafting, non-invasive axillary osmidrosis treatment, minimally invasive excision of skin lesions and surgical correction of nail disorders. All surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis without hospitalization, greatly improving medical efficiency and bringing convenient healthcare experiences especially for international patients.
A dermatological aesthetic clinic is also available, equipped with premium devices including gold-sculpted CO₂ fractional laser, Israel-made M22 intense pulsed light system, PicoSure pico-second laser, Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, 1064 nm wide-pulse laser and Peninsula gold microneedle system. It offers one-stop solutions for skin concerns such as pigmented spots, dryness, scars, dull complexion and wrinkles, integrating medical treatment with aesthetic services.
