With 30 years of medical practice and extensive experience, he has performed up to 800 cardiac anesthetics annually. He specializes in anesthesia and perioperative management for complex and challenging conditions, including coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic dissection, heart and liver transplants, and massive retroperitoneal tumors. He has completed visiting scholar programs at the University of Auckland, Fuwai Hospital of Cardiovascular Diseases, and Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States. He specializes in the management of acute and chronic pain and minimally invasive treatments. His research focuses on the analysis of risk factors in cardiac surgery and the effects of anesthetic drugs on genes. He is dedicated to teaching and actively involved in public service; he was among the first group of doctors from Zhejiang Province to be dispatched to the front lines of the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake.
