The department performs over 80,000 anesthetic and painless interventions annually with consistent, high quality technical outcomes. Its core strengths — including anesthesia for high risk and complex cases, cardiothoracic and great vascular anesthesia, the management of intractable and complicated pain conditions, and perioperative transesophageal echocardiography monitoring — place it at the forefront of anesthetic practice in central Zhejiang Province.
The department provides age inclusive clinical services covering the entire lifespan, ranging from anesthesia for neonatal diaphragmatic hernia repair to orthopedic anesthesia for centenarian patients. Its pain management services encompass systematic multimodal analgesia for acute postoperative pain, as well as standardized outpatient treatment for a wide array of chronic painful disorders, such as cervicobrachial and lumbocrural pain, herpes zoster and post herpetic neuralgia, intervertebral disc herniation, and cancer related pain.
