The Department of Gastroenterology at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine is a key discipline at the hospital and a key discipline in Yiwu City. It is a member unit of the Zhejiang Provincial Gastroenterology Specialty Alliance, a designated medical institution for the National Colorectal Polyp Management Project, the Zhejiang Provincial Training Center for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Early Gastrointestinal Cancer, a member unit of the ERCP Specialty Alliance, a member of the Zhejiang Provincial Alliance for Standardized Diagnosis and Treatment of Esophageal Diseases, a provincial demonstration center for the standardized diagnosis and treatment of Helicobacter pylori, and a regional center for the treatment of high-risk upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
The department boasts a well-structured team of medical professionals, currently comprising 2 chief physicians, 2 associate chief physicians, 8 attending physicians, and 13 resident physicians. The department is equipped with advanced medical technology, including Olympus X1 and Olympus 290 endoscopes, Fujifilm endoscopy systems, various gastrointestinal therapeutic endoscopes, endoscopic ultrasound systems, duodenoscopes, ERCP X-ray machines, the SpyGlass biliary endoscope system, the Haibo knife system, and the Manoscan gastrointestinal motility testing system. The department possesses strong medical expertise, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex gastrointestinal diseases, the medical and endoscopic management of acute and critical gastrointestinal conditions, endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of benign gastrointestinal lesions and early-stage tumors, endoscopic management of biliary and pancreatic diseases, as well as gastroesophageal motility monitoring and pH monitoring.
The department’s primary research areas include: medical management of acute and critical conditions of the digestive system; clinical and basic research on early-stage gastrointestinal cancer; diagnosis and treatment of biliary and pancreatic diseases; standardized diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease; standardized diagnosis and treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection; and standardized diagnosis and treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders.
Currently, he is leading six national and Zhejiang provincial research projects, organizes one to two national or provincial academic conferences annually, and has published over 20 academic papers in international and core journals.
