The Department of Rheumatology offers general clinic, expert clinic, and seven specialized outpatient clinics, including rheumatic disease fertility clinic, connective tissue disease-related interstitial lung disease clinic, gout and hyperuricemia clinic, lupus and vasculitis clinic, rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthritis clinic, oral ulcers and Behçet's disease clinic, and dry mouth and Sjögren's syndrome clinic, as well as a dedicated inpatient ward. The department routinely diagnoses and treats various conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren's syndrome, myositis and dermatomyositis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, systemic vasculitis, and osteoarthritis. It also has clinical experience in diagnosing and managing rare diseases such as IgG4-related disease and relapsing polychondritis.
1. Comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune diseases: Our hospital routinely performs testing for various autoantibodies related to rheumatic diseases and has a complete range of medications, including glucocorticoids, immunomodulators, inhibitors, intravenous immunoglobulin, and biologic agents. We are capable of early diagnosis, evaluation, and standardized treatment for autoimmune connective tissue diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren's syndrome, myositis, systemic sclerosis, and antiphospholipid antibody syndrome.
2. Biologic therapy for rheumatic diseases: Biologic targeted therapy represents the future direction of modern medicine. The Department of Rheumatology offers multiple biologic agents and has extensive clinical experience in treating active or refractory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and systemic lupus erythematosus with biologics.
3. Gout prevention and management: We have rich clinical experience in the symptomatic treatment of acute gouty arthritis, uric acid reduction during the chronic phase of gout, and dietary control.
4. Fertility counseling for patients with rheumatic diseases: We operate a "Rheumatic Disease Pregnancy Clinic" that screens and evaluates patients with rheumatic diseases who wish to conceive. We adjust medications, control disease activity, assess the optimal timing for pregnancy, improve chances of successful conception, and reduce the risks of fetal miscarriage and malformation. For patients experiencing recurrent miscarriages or infertility, we conduct screening for rheumatological and immunological factors to help identify underlying causes and guide appropriate treatment.
