The Department of Oncology at Zhejiang University Fourth Hospital is a key discipline of the hospital, developed according to the principles of high standards, high quality, and high excellence. The department boasts strong capabilities and advanced equipment; the hospital has introduced internationally leading linear accelerators, large-bore simulation CT scanners, high-precision laser positioning systems, and PET-CT scanners, and is planning to establish the Zhejiang Provincial Proton Therapy Center to create a leading high-end cancer prevention and treatment center in China. All physicians in the department hold doctoral or master’s degrees and possess extensive clinical experience, having long been engaged in clinical oncology, research, and teaching. The department provides standardized and personalized diagnosis and treatment for various malignant tumors. In collaboration with experts from relevant departments, it conducts multidisciplinary team (MDT) consultations to address different oncological conditions, offering patients the most cutting-edge technologies and optimized, rational medical services.
The department is led by Professor Li Dezhi, a PhD from West China Hospital of Sichuan University. It also features numerous nationally renowned experts and professors from the Department of Medical Oncology and the Department of Radiation Oncology at Zhejiang University Second Hospital and Zhejiang University Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, who provide outpatient services, conduct rounds, offer consultations, and participate in case discussions. The department boasts strong technical capabilities, advanced service philosophies, a comprehensive range of medications and treatment modalities, and treatment plans that align with the latest international and domestic advancements. Currently, the department routinely implements comprehensive cancer treatments guided by precision genetic testing, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, endocrine therapy, and supportive cancer rehabilitation, thereby achieving multidimensional, comprehensive care for patients. The department also conducts national clinical trials for new drugs and serves as the Yiwu Municipal Quality Control Center for Oncological Diseases. In recent years, under the leadership of Dr. Wu Liming, a specialist in surgical oncology, the department has established a prominent advantage in the field of gastrointestinal oncology.
