The Department of Pathology was established in 2014 and serves as the affiliated unit of the Yiwu Pathology Quality Control Center. The department has 33 staff members, including 15 pathologists (1 chief physician, 4 associate chief physicians, 5 attending physicians, and 5 resident physicians), 15 technicians (2 associate chief technicians, 4 supervising technicians, and 9 junior technicians), and 3 administrative support assistants. Routine work includes histopathology, cytology, frozen pathology, and telepathology, among others. The department also conducts ancillary diagnostic techniques such as immunohistochemistry, special staining, and molecular pathology testing. It is equipped with advanced instruments and equipment, as well as a sophisticated pathology information system (PIS).
The Department of Pathology has well-developed subspecialty programs. Each pathologist holds professional expertise in specific disease domains. The department also maintains efficient communication with clinical teams and regularly organizes multidisciplinary team (MDT) consultations. Difficult and complex cases are reviewed through collective discussion to ensure accurate final diagnoses. By providing high-quality, precise pathological diagnoses, the department offers solid support for clinical practice and delivers optimal diagnostic services for patients.
