The Department of Gynecology at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University is a Class I Key Medical Discipline in Jinhua City. It is a member unit of the Collaborative Innovation Network of the National Clinical Research Center for Obstetrics and Gynecological Diseases, the leading unit of the Central-Western Zhejiang Obstetrics and Gynecology Alliance, and a National Training Base for Gynecological Endoscopy.
As a key clinical discipline integrating medical care, teaching, and research, the department boasts strong technical capabilities and a well-structured talent pool. The discipline leader, Professor Lü Weiguo, is a nationally renowned oncology expert. The department comprises a total of 36 medical staff members, including 18 physicians, all of whom hold master’s degrees or higher. Among them are 5 chief physicians, 2 associate chief physicians, and 2 doctoral advisors. All core clinical physicians have undergone training and further education at internationally renowned medical centers. Additionally, more than 10 renowned provincial gynecological experts have contracted with our hospital to provide routine diagnostic and therapeutic services, facilitating the decentralization of high-quality medical resources. In terms of research, members of the center have led or participated in numerous national, provincial, and ministerial-level research projects, publishing dozens of international papers, many with an impact factor exceeding 5. The department is responsible for training doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students from Zhejiang University and serves as a national-level standardized training base for gynecology, overseeing the standardized training of resident physicians.
Our department consistently adheres to the service philosophy of “patient-centered care and quality-focused treatment,” having developed distinctive minimally invasive and non-invasive techniques centered on organ preservation. We serve the health needs of women through our exceptional clinical expertise. The department treats a wide range of conditions and employs innovative techniques. It currently operates a Day Surgery Center, a Hysteroscopy Center specializing in cold knife technology, and a Uterine Fibroid Diagnosis and Treatment Center offering comprehensive solutions. The department conducts routine medical procedures in accordance with established standards and has pioneered numerous “firsts in Central Zhejiang,” Our capabilities in hysteroscopic cold knife procedures, comprehensive lifecycle management of uterine fibroids, and the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological malignancies and complex pelvic floor disorders are on par with leading domestic and international standards. We have achieved outstanding results in gynecological minimally invasive techniques centered on enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) and fertility preservation. Our goal is to establish an innovative, anatomy-based surgical research and development center and clinical research center to lead the advancement of gynecological technology in Central Zhejiang.
