Leveraging the strong multidisciplinary team at Zhejiang University Fourth Hospital, the Department of Obstetrics has established a Center for the Care of High-Risk and Critically Ill Pregnant Women, characterized by rapid response and multidisciplinary collaboration in managing complex and critical cases. The center routinely provides diagnostic and treatment services for high-risk pregnant women with conditions such as severe preeclampsia, placenta previa, pregnancy complicated by heart disease, and pregnancy complicated by aplastic anemia. The International Maternity Care Center routinely provides professional prenatal and perinatal care services to expectant mothers from other countries. The obstetric nursing team adheres to the cultural philosophy of “Providing the finest and most outstanding care for mothers and infants, and serving with the utmost precision and respect as dedicated professionals.” We have established online and offline antenatal classes and “Internet+” nursing services, and implement various forms of non-pharmacological pain relief and labor analgesia measures. Through precise and appropriate midwifery techniques and compassionate care, we promote natural childbirth and enhance the birthing experience. We also provide early neonatal care and breastfeeding support, offering comprehensive, family-centered care to expectant and new mothers. The Obstetrics Department comprises 16 physicians, including 2 chief physicians, 2 associate chief physicians, 2 doctors with PhDs, and 11 with master’s degrees. The department has undertaken multiple research projects at the provincial and ministerial levels or higher, and has published over 30 papers in SCI-indexed and core journals. It is responsible for training master’s and undergraduate students from Zhejiang University and serves as a national-level standardized training base for obstetrics and gynecology, conducting standardized residency training programs.
