The Department of Obstetrics is a core member of the Zhejiang Provincial Clinical Research Center for Obstetric and Gynecological Diseases, a key medical discipline of Jinhua City, and the maternal and infant care center for central and western Zhejiang. Leveraging the tertiary hospital platform of Zhejiang University, we have established a comprehensive  medical service system covering "preparation for pregnancy - prenatal care - delivery - postpartum rehabilitation", providing standardized, refined and individualized maternal and infant health services for all patients. With 56 inpatient beds, the department performs approximately 2,500 surgical procedures and receives 66,000 outpatient visits annually,  maintaining a strong regional reputation for obstetric care.

Our department is staffed by a professional team of senior obstetricians, attending physicians, and specialized nursing staff with extensive clinical experience and robust professional expertise. Many team members have received advanced professional training in top domestic and international medical institutions, and we are committed to integrating advanced international obstetric diagnostic and treatment technologies into clinical practice to ensure safe and effective care for every patient. We specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and management of a full spectrum of obstetric conditions, with core strengths including placental abruption, vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC), spontaneous vaginal delivery, placenta previa, severe preeclampsia, and the management of critically ill pregnant women with complications such as heart disease, gestational diabetes mellitus, and aplastic anemia in pregnancy.

We have formed distinct specialized capabilities in obstetric care. For general obstetrics, we provide comprehensive services including childbirth education, pharmacological labor analgesia (painless delivery), and non-pharmacological labor analgesia (including analgesic devices, doula accompaniment, birthing balls, free position, music therapy and hydrotherapy), neonatal care, postpartum uterine involution promotion, and pelvic floor function rehabilitation. For high-risk obstetrics, we have established a dedicated emergency critical care team for pregnant women, leveraging the multidisciplinary advantages of the general hospital and integrating technical platforms such as artificial liver, ECMO, plasma exchange, and hemodialysis for the treatment of severe maternal conditions. We have also achieved innovations in obstetric surgical techniques, including transverse compression suturing for pernicious placenta previa, intrapartum treatment of partial birth defects, and En Caul cesarean section. In addition, we have established a clinical application system for maternal VTE (venous thromboembolism) assessment.
