The Department of Psychiatry at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine is committed to advancing humanistic psychiatry. In addition to traditional psychiatric approaches, the department places greater emphasis on early-stage psychological issues and the mental well-being of specific populations, such as adolescents and pregnant and postpartum women, to ensure early identification, diagnosis, and treatment. Building upon traditional pharmacological treatments, the department integrates psychotherapy and physical therapy into its treatment protocols. The Department of Psychiatry is equipped with instruments and devices such as a non-convulsive electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) machine, a repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) machine, a transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) machine, a sleep apnea monitor, a psychological stress analyzer, an acupoint regulation therapy device, and a biofeedback therapy device. The department also operates an independent psychiatric ward. Leveraging the strengths of a general hospital, we coordinate multidisciplinary resources to provide comprehensive, culturally respectful, and patient-centered care aimed at restoring patients’ mental health and social functioning, doing our utmost to support them.
