The Department of Pharmacy at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine comprises eight units: the Central Pharmacy, Pharmacy Intravenous Admixture Services, Emergency Pharmacy, Reproductive Medicine Pharmacy, Fever Clinic Pharmacy, Central Pharmaceutical Warehouse, Operating Room Pharmacy, and Clinical Pharmacy Division. The department is a standardized training center for clinical pharmacists under the Clinical Pharmacy Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and a member of the Zhejiang University Clinical Pharmacy Research Center. The department has 108 staff members, including one master's supervisor, two chief pharmacists, and six associate chief pharmacists. Two staff members hold doctoral degrees and 27 hold master’s degrees. The pharmacy team provides medication dispensing, intravenous medication preparation, pharmaceutical supply management, clinical medication review, and patient medication counseling. Pharmacists work with physicians and nurses to promote the safe, effective, and appropriate use of medicines. In terms of research, in the past five years, staff members of the department have led more than 20 research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and at provincial and ministerial levels, published over 20 SCI-indexed papers, and nearly 40 papers, including those in Chinese core journals and other academic journals. The department is qualified to supervise master’s degree candidates. It also provides practical training for undergraduate and junior-college pharmacy students. The department is committed to delivering professional, efficient, and patient-centered pharmaceutical services to both Chinese and international patients.
